Really Loud Delusions

Flare Guns

Alright, so. Flare Guns.

Flare guns are a type of gun that shoot flares. They are used to signal distress or to illuminate an area. They are typically used in maritime and aviation contexts, but can also be used in other situations where a signal is needed. Flare guns are usually single-shot, meaning they can only fire one flare at a time before needing to be reloaded. They are often made of metal or plastic and can be operated with one hand like a revolver.

Now forget everything you just read. This yap isn't about the not loud clearly not delusion of physical, literal flare guns. No... This yap is about the really loud delusions of my fancomic called Flare Guns.

Are you ready? Because here it goes. Here's the actual intro.

Flare Guns is a fancomic of "Riviera: The Promised Land" set in a real life alternate universe. The story is about Malice and revolves around her everyday life with Ein and Ledah after a failed marriage with Hector. Other characters are there, too. Cierra is Malice's buddy during college and their friendship continued towards their working years, Serene is Malice's co-worker on "unfriendly" terms, and Fia is a barista at a cafe Ein and Ledah frequent. You've probably got it. It's a slice-of-life. "But what about Lina?" You may ask. Well... The fan who's making the comic hasn't thought of what her role would be in Malice's life.

We see Malice driving a car towards a very impressive house and lot in the intro. That house isn't hers, nor is it Ledah's, nor is it Ein's, nor is it any of our belovedly-known cast's house. The owner of the house isn't really that important. Though how Malice interacted with the house was. Despite not being the owner, she had the key to the house. Some things happen in that house, but I won't tell it here. To be clear, no one else was there and nothing was stolen.

The next chapter, Malice woke up with Seth-Ra (a cat) jumping on her stomach. She was in her own house, which is an equally impressive house though not as big as the one in the intro. She was late in feeding her cat because she woke up at noon, so her abrupt waking up was justified. She ate, did the dishes, bathed, and got dressed. At that time, she called Cierra to hang out and go to a salon, maybe get a makeover and buy some new clothes. It was a little sudden so Cierra got curious. After they did whatever Malice wanted to do, Cierra asked her.

It was raining. Ein and Ledah were at Fia's cafe, discussing the boring old topics that normal people talk about. Like the landlord kicking them out. Ledah almost got angry but remembered that Ein "forgave his offences" just then so he calmed down. Ein was the one who suggested that they should stay at Malice's house. It was big enough for eight people, and Malice doesn't exactly have any housemates now that she and Hector were separated. Ledah agreed and Ein called Malice on the phone.

Malice was at Cierra's place. Both women were having a movie marathon and were dressed to sleep. Though they didn't exactly plan on sleeping. Someone was calling Malice on the phone, so she answered it. It was Ein asking if he and Ledah could stay at her house for a while. Malice agreed haphazardly. It's not like they were strangers, nor is Ledah the type of person to allow him and Ein overstaying their due. Though it was Ein. Ein and Malice have been the best of friends ever since they met, even to the point of seeing him as a little brother. He understood her struggles as she understood his. Ledah was a different story, but he was Ein's husband, so he was also Malice's friend--or if we're talking with the family metaphor, her brother-in-law. She didn't mind him staying at her house.

That's the full intro to Flare Guns, anyway. The next chapters talk about Malice's traumas, and Ein and Ledah helping her through it. Most chapters revolve around Malice's relationships with the cast. Other times is just Malice overcoming her own struggles through life.
