Scrapbook Season

By Sunder

This was our tale where we are the stars,
where we have roles suited for brave heroes,
where we travel to worlds wide and far,
and where we trek for peace from imaginary wars.

Remember on a bridge, when we first met?
The wind was so strong, it blew us both.
But at least we found new company, Lafayette!
The little rascal was our accidental joint custody pet.

Those were the times when we started to dream,
to write poetry and to be a three-man team.
We became the best group there ever was,
facing the wrath of monsters, thieves, and gods.

Remember when we used to catch
the bugs from traps you wittingly latched;
or the leaves that fell in the fall;
or my favorite pebble that was so small?

Remember when we went to the zoo?
We saw monkeys, hippos, kangaroos.
I took a feather that fell from an owl
and added it to our treasure trove pile.

Remember the shirt from a guy named Sam?
He kicked Lafayette once, we were angry and afraid.
Our dog tore a piece of Sam's cloth and we scrammed!
Luckily though, we got some stuff from the raid.

Remember when we went to a place we didn't knew,
we saw snow for the first time in our entire lives.
You took a red leaf with a shape so peculiar.
It looked like a giant crimson four leaf clover.

Remember when I carved a heart on a coconut tree;
Or the rosemallow I offered for on top your hair?
We were like unto birds, flying fairies, free;
as we pretend to soar beside the wide sea.

Every season was our scrapbook season.
Every day was a new adventure for us demons.
Every place was a journey, every breath gave us reasons,
Every treasure we had became our freedom.

As I close this door filled with useless stuff,
do you have anything else to say?

Please, good luck with college.
Don't forget me, okay?
